Report Content
If you believe content hosted through Host An App is illegal, infringes your rights or violates my Acceptable Use Policy, you can submit a report below. Depending on the nature of the report, the deployment may automatically be placed under review, in which case visitors see a neutral safety notice while I assess it. A report is an allegation, not proof of a violation. I review reports myself, and submitting a report does not guarantee immediate removal. For a fuller description of how I handle notices, see the notice-and-action details further down this page.
1 · How to submit a sufficiently precise notice
Prefer to submit your notice by email? Send it to:
A sufficiently precise notice should include, to the extent available to you:
- The exact URL (or URLs) of the content you are reporting. If the content is spread across multiple pages, please list them all.
- An explanation of why you believe the content is illegal or violates my policies, including the specific legal ground or policy concerned.
- Any supporting information, such as details about the rights you believe are being infringed or your authority to act on behalf of a rights holder.
- Your name and contact information, so I can reach you if clarification is necessary.
- A statement that the information you are providing is accurate and submitted in good faith.
Notices that do not contain enough information to identify the content or the alleged issue may not be actionable on their own. If your notice is incomplete, I'll ask you for the additional details I need rather than discarding it.
2 · Acknowledgment and handling of reports
I acknowledge receipt of valid notices and handle them diligently, fairly and objectively. I review each notice in light of the information provided and applicable law, and I aim to respond promptly. Where I identify an issue, I take action as described below. Where I don't, I'll inform you of the outcome so far as reasonably possible.
Serious reports (such as suspected phishing, malware or illegal content) may automatically place a deployment under review. While under review, visitors to the page see a neutral, platform-controlled safety notice stating that the page has been reported and for which categories, without asserting that the allegations are true. This notice is a precaution, not a finding; I clear it, keep it, or disable the deployment after review.
3 · What actions I may take
Depending on the nature of the report, I may take one or more of the following actions:
- take no action where I don't identify a violation;
- restrict access to the content (for example, by blocking or password-protecting it);
- disable or remove a deployment;
- restrict future use of the Service;
- preserve relevant information where required by law (see below); or
- take other action where reasonably necessary.
I don't guarantee that every report will result in the removal of content. Removals and restrictions are carried out in a timely manner, and I may contact the affected user and provide them with the reason for the restriction or removal, subject to applicable law and circumstances.
4 · How affected users can challenge or clarify a removal
If your content is removed or access to it is restricted following a notice, and you believe the action was not justified, you may contact me at [email protected] with:
- the URL of the affected content;
- an explanation of why you believe the removal or restriction was not justified; and
- any supporting information, such as evidence of your rights or lawful use.
I'll review the challenge and, where appropriate, restore the content, clarify the reason for the action, or otherwise resolve the matter. Please include as much relevant context as possible; I may need to ask follow-up questions.
5 · Preservation of information
Where I'm legally required to do so (for example, by applicable law or an order from a competent authority), I'll preserve relevant information and cooperate with authorities. This may include retaining content or metadata for a reasonable period even after a deployment would otherwise expire or be removed.
6 · Abusive or bad-faith notices
I may disregard clearly abusive or bad-faith notices, such as notices submitted to harass, that are manifestly unfounded, or that abuse the notice mechanism. This doesn't affect genuine reports, which I always take seriously. Please submit your notice in good faith and provide accurate information.
