Terms of Service
Hi! I'm Víctor Busqué, and I run Host An App ("Host An App", "HostAn" or the "Service") as a personal project, by myself. In these Terms, "I", "me" and "my" mean Víctor Busqué, the operator of the Service. These Terms govern your access to and use of the website, APIs, MCP integrations, and hosting services at hostan.app. By using the Service, you agree to these Terms.
1. About the Service
I built Host An App to make it easy to temporarily host and share lightweight web content. The Service lets you (and automated tools acting on your behalf) deploy content such as:
- HTML applications;
- Markdown documents;
- Mermaid diagrams; and
- other supported content formats.
Deployments are generally temporary and may expire or be removed automatically. The Service is meant for quick sharing, testing, demonstrations, prototypes, presentations, dashboards, calculators, and similar uses. I currently provide it free of charge as a personal project. This may change in the future.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. If you are under the age at which you can legally enter into agreements in your country or region, you may only use the Service with the permission and supervision of a parent or legal guardian. You are responsible for ensuring that your use complies with applicable laws.
3. Your Content
You retain ownership of the content that you deploy through the Service ("User Content"). I don't claim ownership of your User Content.
By deploying User Content, you grant me a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide licence to host, store, process, reproduce, transmit and display that content solely to the extent reasonably necessary to operate, maintain, secure and provide the Service.
You represent and warrant that:
- you have the necessary rights, permissions and authority to deploy the User Content;
- your User Content does not violate applicable law or the rights of others; and
- your use of the Service complies with these Terms and my Acceptable Use Policy.
You remain solely responsible for your User Content and for the consequences of making it available.
4. Public and Temporary Hosting
Unless a deployment is specifically protected using a feature the Service provides, hosted content may be publicly accessible to anyone who obtains or discovers its URL.
You should not assume that deployments are confidential or private. Don't rely on the Service as a secure storage system, backup service, or confidential information repository.
5. Expiration and Removal
Deployments may automatically expire after a specified period and may be permanently deleted. I don't guarantee that any deployment will remain available for any particular period unless explicitly stated otherwise.
You are responsible for maintaining your own copies and backups. I can't guarantee that expired, deleted, corrupted or otherwise unavailable content can be recovered.
I may modify, suspend, disable or remove deployments where reasonably necessary to operate or protect the Service, comply with law, investigate suspected misuse, or enforce these Terms.
6. Acceptable Use
You must use Host An App lawfully and responsibly. You must not use the Service to deploy, distribute, facilitate or promote content or activities prohibited by my Acceptable Use Policy. I may investigate suspected violations and may remove or disable content, restrict access, or take other appropriate action.
7. Third-Party Content and Services
User Content may contain links to, scripts from, or other interactions with third-party websites and services. I don't control or endorse third-party content merely because it is linked to or accessible from a deployment. Your interactions with third parties are subject to their own terms and policies.
8. No Proactive Review of All Content
I don't currently proactively review every deployment before it becomes accessible. The existence of content on the Service doesn't mean I've reviewed, approved, endorsed or verified it. If you believe content is illegal or violates my policies, please report it as described on my Report Content page.
9. Availability and Changes
The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. I may modify, suspend or discontinue any part of the Service at any time. I don't guarantee that the Service will always be available, uninterrupted, secure or error-free, nor that hosted content will remain available or recoverable. Because this is a personal, free project, there is no service-level agreement or guaranteed uptime.
10. Disclaimer of Warranties
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, I make no warranties or representations regarding the Service, including warranties relating to availability, reliability, security, accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits rights or protections that cannot legally be excluded.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, I will not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special or exemplary damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Service, including loss of data, content, business opportunities, reputational damage or other losses resulting from the temporary, expired, deleted, unavailable or publicly accessible nature of deployments. Nothing here limits liability where such limitation is prohibited by law.
12. Indemnification
To the extent permitted by applicable law, you agree to be responsible for claims, losses, damages, liabilities and reasonable costs arising from your unlawful use of the Service or your violation of these Terms or the rights of others.
13. Termination and Restriction of Access
I may restrict or prevent access to the Service, including future use from particular users, systems or network sources, where reasonably necessary to address abuse, security risks, legal requirements or violations. Because the Service currently doesn't require user accounts, certain restrictions may be implemented using technical measures appropriate to the circumstances.
14. Changes to These Terms
I may update these Terms from time to time. The updated version will be published on this page with a revised "Last updated" date. Your continued use after changes become effective constitutes acceptance, except where applicable law requires a different process.
15. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of Spain, without prejudice to mandatory legal protections that may apply to you. Where legally permitted, disputes relating to these Terms or the Service will be subject to the jurisdiction of the competent courts of Spain.
